PAKTURK International Schools & Colleges held the initial Pakistan rounds for the forthcoming 2008 DILSET International Language Olympiads at the recently-constructed Lahore Campus on November 24, 2007 with the participation of 35 students of PAKTURK educational institutions from Islamabad, Karachi, Khairpur Mirs, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta.
The programme was presided by an eminent jury consisting of Dr Bashir Gondal of Punjab University Dept. of Education Sciences, Prof. Hulya Khanum of Punjab University Oriental College Dept of Turkish Language, Dr Durmus Bulgur of NUML Dept of Turkish Language, Prof. Zekeriya Nas of NUML Dept of Turkish Language, Mr Hasan Javed, Industrialist, Mrs Handan Abbas, Educationist, Mr Suat Erguvan, PAKTURK ICEF Head of English Dept, Mr Bayram Altinisik, PAKTURK ICEF Head of Biology Dept. and Mr Mehmet Ali Seker, PAKTURK ICEF Head of Computing Sciences.
Among the audience were Mr Ismail Nazli, Chairman PAKTURK ICEF, Mr Kamil Ture, Director Education PAKTURK ICEF, Mr Murat Ervan PAKTURK ICEF Director HR as well as a large number of educationists, professionals and parents.
Having cleared the preliminary written and spoken tests in Turkish, shortlisted students displayed their stints in poetry-recitation and singing, which was evaluated by the Jury on through the rounds. After a rigorous and challenging contest, the following students have secured positions:
